Your data stays yours

Saved on your device
Everything you enter is stored in your browser on your own phone, tablet or computer. It works with no internet connection.
Optional Google Drive sync
Turn on sync to use the same records on every device. Moonlighter saves one file to a private app folder in your own Google Drive. It uses Google's drive.appdata permission, so it can't see, open or change any of your other Drive files.
We never see it
Your records go straight between your device and Google. We don't receive, sell or share them. When you send an estimate or invoice, an encrypted copy of just that document is held so the link can be short. The key is only in the link, so we can't read it, and it's deleted automatically after about a year.

Can I try it first?
Yes. The free version runs right in your browser and saves up to 3 clients, jobs, estimates and invoices on your device, so you can try it on real work. You can save estimates and invoices as PDFs to send yourself. Buy it to unlock unlimited records, estimates your clients sign on their own phone, Pay Now links, your logo and brand color on estimates and invoices, all 11 color themes and sync across your devices. Everything you entered stays when you unlock.
How do I get it?
Buy it here or from our Etsy shop. Your download includes a setup guide with your link to the app. Open the app, pick your line of work, unlock it once with your Gumroad license key or Etsy order number, and add it to your home screen so it works like a regular app.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. It works in Safari, Chrome and Edge on iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac and Windows. Add it to your home screen or dock and it opens in its own window.
Is there an iPhone app?
An App Store version is coming soon, with Face ID lock, reminders, receipt photos and contact import. Until then, the web app works great on iPhone: open it in Safari and add it to your Home Screen. A license you already own also unlocks the iPhone app.
Does it work with my booking app?
Yes, if your booking app (Calendly, Setmore and others) copies bookings into your Google Calendar. In the full version, connect your calendar in Settings and your upcoming bookings show on the dashboard, where one tap adds them as jobs. It’s optional and read-only: the app never changes your calendar, and your calendar goes straight from Google to your device. You can also add your booking link: it shows on your invoices and estimates, and one tap texts or emails it to a client, including right when you add a new one.
Can I hide the parts I don’t use?
Yes. Setup walks you through your business info, links and payment options one screen at a time, then lets you pick your tabs. Mileage and Subcontractors start hidden, and you can turn any tab on or off later in Settings. Hiding a tab never deletes anything.
Can I text clients from WhatsApp, Google Voice or Quo?
Yes. In Settings, pick how you send texts: Messages, WhatsApp, or another app like Google Voice or Quo. WhatsApp opens the chat with your message filled in. For other apps, the client’s number is copied and your share sheet opens with the message, so you just paste and send.
Do I need internet?
To open and unlock it the first time, and to send estimates and invoices by email or text. Everything else works offline and saves on your device. If you turned on sync, it catches up when you're back online.
What happens if I lose my phone?
Turn on Google Drive sync or download a backup file from Settings. Either way, your records can be restored on a new device. Job photos are kept on the device where you took them.
Where are my files in Google Drive?
Drive sync saves your records to a private Moonlighter area of your Google Drive that only the app can read, so it doesn’t show up as a folder. To keep your own copy, use Settings › Download backup, or export spreadsheets for your accountant. A Moonlighter folder you can open, with your job photos, saved PDFs and spreadsheets that update in place, is coming soon.
Is there a monthly fee?
No. You buy it once. Updates are included and install automatically.
